Jabber Officially Becomes Part Of Cisco
Denver-based Jabber, a provider of instant messaging and presence software, has officially become part of Cisco, Cisco said Monday. Cisco said it will use the acquisition to embed presence and messaging service "in the network" through its products, including Cisco WebEx Connect and Cisco Unified Communications. Jabber becomes part of Cisco's Collaboration Software Group. Financial details of the deal, which was originally announced September 19th, have not been released. Jabber was venture backed by Innovacom and JONA Group.
