Webroot Launches Online Backup Service
Boulder, Colorado-based Webroot said this morning that it has entered the online backup market, with a new, web-based backup service called Webroot Secure Backup. Webroot said the new service is targeted at home PC users, to protect digital photos, music, and other files from damage or loss. the new service will handle up to 50 gigabytes of online backup space, on up to three different computers. Webroot said the online backup service will start at two gigabytes of online backup for $29.95 per year. Among the features of the new service will be automatic backups, unlimited file archiving and versioning, and encryption of data.
