Plasmon Wins Health Management Associates Account

Plasmon PLC, a provider of digital archiving solutions, revealed Monday that Health Management Associates Inc., an operator of acute care hospitals, has chosen Plasmon for its long-term storage needs across its network of 57 hospitals. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Plasmon said its UDO Archive Appliance is currently being deployed as a replacement for HMA's previous archiving infrastructure, which utilized disk-based storage and DVD disaster-recovery media. The new solution, Plasmon added, is scalable and will be able to grow with HMA over time. Headquartered in Cambridge, England, Plasmon bases its North American headquarters in Broomfield, Colo.
