Sorrento Networks Buys Redfern Broadband Networks

Denver, Colorado-based Sorrento Networks said this morning that it has made an asset purchase of Redfern Broadband Networks, an Australian manufacturer of optical networking equipment. The company did not disclose financial details of the buy. Sorrento Networks said the acquisition will expand the firm's metro optical access product portfolio. Sorrento said the buy will also enhance its global reach, as a result of channel relationships and customers. Sorrento Networks develops metro optical access products, including CWDM, DWDm, and other products for telecommunications carriers.
