Realtime Worlds Gets Game Distribution Rights

Independent video game developer Realtime Worlds Inc. revealed Monday that it has regained the global distribution rights to an Internet-based game it is currently developing at the company's studio in Dundee, Scotland. Realtime, which is headquartered in Boulder, Colo., said the move follows a recent $50 million Series B round of venture financing and provides the company with an opportunity to take a more active role in managing the game's global distribution strategy. The product, All Points Bulletin, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game in which users will get to choose between playing criminals or those trying to catch them. Realtime said it regained the global distribution rights to the game from Webzen Inc., a Korea-based online entertainment company with which Realtime originally partnered in 2005.
