Level 3 President, COO Steps Down

Wholesale Internet service provider Level 3 Communications Inc. announced Monday that Kevin O'Hara, the company's president and chief operating officer, has resigned, effective immediately. Level 3 said O'Hara's duties will be divided among two people. Jim Crowe, the company’s chief executive officer, will take over as president, while Neil Hobbs, Level 3's executive vice president of sales and network services, will step into the newly created role of executive vice president of operations. In related news, Level 3 said it has terminated its previously announced search for a new CFO because Sunit Patel, the company's current chief financial officer, has decided to remain on board. Level 3 is headquartered in Broomfield, Colo.
