Micron, Nanya to Explore Joint Partnership

Semiconductor manufacturer Micron Technology Inc. announced Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nanya Technology Corp., a Taiwanese producer of memory chips. According to Micron, the agreement says both companies will explore potential technology sharing and the development of a new joint venture. Specifically, Micron said it and Nanya will establish a joint development program for designing and producing dynamic random access memory chips based on a sub-50 nanometer process. Micron Technology is headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Nanya Technology Corp., a member of the Formosa Plastics Group, is based in Taipei, Taiwan.
