Hypercom to Acquire Thales SA's e-Transactions Business

Hypercom Corp., a Phoenix-based provider of electronic payment devices and related software, announced Wednesday that it has agreed to purchase the e-transactions business of French electronics and defense firm Thales S.A. Hypercom said the executed share purchase agreement will strengthen its footprint in Western Europe. A monetary amount was not disclosed. Hypercom explained that the transaction, which is expected to close by March 31, is the result of a binding offer it made in December.
