Omniture Buys Visual Sciences

Orem, Utah-based web analytics provider Omniture said late Thursday that it is acquiring San Diego, California-based competitor Visual Sciences. The deal is worth approximately $394M in stock and cash. Omniture said it will pay $2.39 in cash per share of Visual Sciences, plus 0.49 shares of Omniture stock. The deal is expected to close in early to mid 2008. Both firms provide web analytics services to e-commerce and other web site operators, who use it to optimize and adjust their web designs, promotions, and pages.
