Lumidigm Gets SBIR Contract
Albuquerque, N.M-based Lumidigm Inc., a developer of fingerprint sensors that use multi-spectral imaging, announced earlier this week that it has received a follow-up contract from the U.S. Army to continue developing a multi-modal, whole-hand biometric sensor. Lumidigm explained that the Phase II contract is worth $730,000 and is funded through the Department of the Army's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The Albuquerque, N.M.-based company said it had previously worked on a multi-spectral fingerprint sensor under a SBIR Phase I award. Lumidigm added that Michigan State University's Anil Jain, a noted pattern-recognition and fingerprint-matching expert, will assist the project.
