Ionatron Hires Engineering VP

Ionatron Inc., a manufacturer of laser-guided equipment and accessories for major U.S. defense contractors, reported today that it has hired Gerald P. Uyeno as its vice president of engineering. The Tucson, Arizona-based company described Uyeno as a defense industry veteran with 28 years of relevant engineering, technology-development and program-management experience. Ionatron said Uyeno previously worked for the Redondo Beach, Calif.-based TRW Space and Electronics Group, now a division of Northrop Grumman. Uyeno also worked for Raytheon Corp.’s Space and Airborne Systems Division out of El Segundo, Calif., Ionatron added.
