StillSecure Rolls Free NAC Software
Superior, Colorado-based security software provider StillSecure has rolled out a new, free version of the firm's network access control (NAC) software, the firm said Monday. StillSecure said that the free version of its software will provide endpoint security monitoring for up to 250 endpoints; the company said the free software differs from its commercial version in that it does not quarantine unsafe devices automatically, although the free software can identify devices for administrators. The new software, Safe Access Lite, is available for download from the company's web site and as a pre-configured virtual machine for the popular VMware server virtualization environment. Network access control (NAC) software is used to monitor servers and PCs connected to enterprise networks, and to limit communications to only authorized machines.
