Cluster File Systems Acquired By Sun Microsystems
Boulder, Colorado-based Cluster File Systems, Inc., developer of the Lustre distributed file system, has been acquired by Sun Microsystems. Sun said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Cluster File Systems, in a deal that is expected to close in October. Financial terms were not disclosed. Cluster File Systems' Lustre file system is widely used in the high performance computing and supercomputing industry, and is used by national laboratories and other computing centers for their file storage. Sun said it will continue to enhance Lustre for Unix and Solaris platforms.
