SkyeTek Unveils New Customer, Service Group

SkyeTek Inc., a manufacturer of embedded radio frequency identification chips and related software, reported Monday that it has expanded its clientele and its service offerings. SkyeTek said Vail Resorts, operator of the Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly ski resorts, has tapped SkyeTek to develop a wireless, on-mountain RFID network and related Web services. SkyeTek explained that Vail Resorts plans to use SkyeTek's RFID technology to scan select lift passes as part of an automated authentication pilot program. In an unrelated development, SkyeTek said it has launched a professional services group that will work with original-equipment manufacturers to deliver RFID-enabled products. The Westminster, Colo.-based company added that the services group will support all phases of the embedded RFID development cycle, including requirements analysis, design, integration and testing.
