MapQuest Introduces ActionScript-Friendly API
Online direction-giver MapQuest announced Tuesday that it has launched a new application-programming interface for Adobe ActionScript. MapQuest said its Advantage API 5.1, which is still in beta, grants developers access to a more robust toolset with the added benefits of ActionScript 3.0. MapQuest added that developers can use the new API with Adobe Flex or Adobe Flash. MapQuest also said the latest version of its Advantage API comes with some JavaScript enhancements, including advanced overlays and icon declutter. Headquartered in Denver, MapQuest provides Internet users with maps and directions and is a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL LLC.
