DigitalGlobe Partners with GPS Navigation Service
DigitalGlobe, a provider of high-resolution satellite imagery, announced Monday that its global surveys will be incorporated into a voice-guided GPS navigation service. DigitalGlobe said the service, which is operated by LocatioNet Systems Ltd. and is called amAze, will be the first of its kind to combine high-resolution satellite imagery and aerial photography. DigitalGlobe explained that LocatioNet's GIS technology will stream aerial photos and satellite images to mobile devices, allowing users to observe their real-time positions superimposed on those images. DigitalGlobe is based in Longmont, Colorado. LocatioNet Systems Ltd. is headquartered in London, England.
