Innovasic Semiconductor Joins Industry Group
Innovasic Semiconductor, a manufacturer of replacement microncontroller computer chips, announced Monday that it has joined an association of key automation companies in support of Common Industrial Protocol technologies. The group, known as the Open DeviceNet Vendors Association, manages the development of CIP-related open technologies such as DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CompoNet, CIP Saftey, CIP Sync and CIP Motion. In addition to Innovasic, the association's members include Cisco Systems, Eaton Electrical, Omron Corp., Rockwell Automation and Schneider Electric. Headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M., Innovasic develops after-market microcontrollers that are embedded into aging industrial equipment, thereby extending their life and maintaining functionality.
