UTStarcom Opts for Motorola's ATCA Servers
UTStarcom Inc. has chosen Motorola's AdvancedTCA communications servers for integration within the former's mSwitch IP-based multi-service platforms, the companies announced Monday. UTStarcom said it expects Motorola’s latest, open-standard ATCA technology to enable UTStarcom to deliver cost-effective, scalable and highly available solutions to networks in Asia and elsewhere. Motorola is a Fortune 100 company headquartered in Tempe, Ariz., with reported sales of $42.9 billion for 2006. UTStarcom provides IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions. Founded in 1991 and based in Alameda, Calif., the company sells its broadband, wireless and handset products to operators in emerging and established telecommunications markets.
