EA Buys Utah's Headgate Studios
Redwood Shores, California-based Electronic Arts said today that it has acquired Utah-based video game developer Headgate Studios. Financial terms were not disclosed. EA said that Headgate Studios will remain in Bountiful, and work on development of titles for Nintendo Wii. Headgate has produced titles for EA since 2000 on titles such as Tiger Woods PGA TOUR and Madden NFL. The move by EA is the second major video game development in Salt Lake in the last month, and follows the establishment of Fall Line Studio by Walt Disney in Salt Lake in November, also to develop Nintendo Wii titles.
