Sorenson Media Upgrades Video Compression Software

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Sorenson Media announced Thursday that it has upgraded the firm's video encoding and compression application, Sorenson Squeeze. The new software, version 4.5, supports new output capability for cell phones and the Sony Playstation Portable, settings for Blu-ray, and HD-DVD. The firm said that the software is also now two to three times faster than previous versions. Sorenson's software compresses video for Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
