Parvus Unveils High Speed Internet For Transit Passengers
Salt Lake City, Utah-based Parvus, a provider of mobile computing and embedded products, has unveiled a new mobile Internet access system targeted at bus transit and private coach operators. The firm unveiled an 802.11 hotspot product at the BusCon 2006 expo this week. The company said that its new Ridernet passenger Internet Access solution is aimed at helping bus transit authorities increase ridership. The new Ridernet product connects passengers at DSL comparable speeds from 802.11 wifi to a cellular backhaul. The company's systems are already being used by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) on its commuter bus line.
