Insight Buys Software Spectrum For $287M

Tempe, Arizona-based Insight Enterprises announced this morning that it is acquiring Level 3's Software Spectrum unit for $287M. Software Spectrum is a Texas-based technology solutions provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Level 3 Communications. Insight said that the acquisition will solidify the firm's value proposition to its clients, and that it will establish a global footprint for the firm. Software Spectrum has sales of $1.9B and earnings of $21.3M in the year ended December 31, 2005. Insight is a distributor of information technology products for the business and government sector.
