Zions Bank Adds Two Factor Authentication from RSA
Salt Lake City, Utah-based Zions Bank has added new, two-factor authentication for the bank's Internet Banking services, the bank said yesterday. Zions is adding what is called two-factor authentication, which uses images and challenge questions to add additional security to logins for users, from RSA Security. The bank said that customers will be asked to personalize images and a secret phrase to their login screen, so they can be sure they are actually accessing Zions Internet Banking site. The new system will also provide challenge questions to ensure that customers are who they say they are. The move comes shortly after the bank launched a program earlier this month to allow customers to cash checks using biometrics at some of their branches.
