SkyeTek Adds Healthcare Providers

Westminster, Colorado-based SkyeTek, a provider of RFID reader technology, said this morning that it has now reached more than 30 customers who are using its products for patient safety applications. SkyeTek develops RFID readers and encoders for a number of industries. The firm said that its RFID products are now being used in laboratory analysis, blood transfusions, medication delivery, and other areas. The company cited TioMed, a company which has integrated SkyeTek's readers into a handset for automated type matching in blood transfusions; and Medica, a company which is using RFID in its analyzers for blood, serum, and other testing. SkyeTek is backed by Appian Ventures, Palomar Ventures, and Sequel Venture Partners.
