Simplicita Targets Network Zombies
Denver, Colorado-based startup Simplicita has introduced a new product targeted at the problem of compromised PCs. The firm has rolled out a new product that detects, quarantines, and fixes PCs that have been infected with what are called "zombie" and botnet software. The new software, targeted at broadband service providers, identifies hijacked PCs and removes them from provider networks. The startup's products do not require client software on subscriber machines, and instead uses Internet domain name services (DNS) to manage infected PCs.
