Mozy Acquired By EMC

Berkeley Data Systems, the American Fork, Utah-based firm which operates the popular Mozy online storage backup service, confirmed this morning that it has been acquired by EMC Corporation. Josh Coates, the firm's founder and CEO, said that it has officially been acquired by EMC as of October 1st. Coates said that Mozy will become part of the EMC New Ventures Group, and that the firm will continued to be located in American Fork. No financial terms of the deal were disclosed. Mozy operates an online web service which allows anyone to back up their computer through the Internet.
