VidAngel Ordered To Pay $62.4M To Hollywood Studios

VidAngel
has been ordered to pay $62.4 million in damages to Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. this week, in what is a huge blow to the company's efforts in court. VidAngel--which had offered up filtered versions of popular Hollywood movies for streaming to consumers, worried about sex and violence in those movies--was ordered to pay $62.4M to the studios this week by U.S. District Judge Andre Birotte The company--which shut down its streaming movie services in December of 2016--has been embroiled in lawsuits with the Hollywood studios for years.
