DigiCert and cyber security giant
Symantec said this week that DigiCert has acquired Symantec's Websit Security and related PKI solutions business. The two said that DigiCert will pay approximately $950M in cash to Symantec, and Symantec will gain approximately a 30 percent stake in the common stock equity of DigiCert's business as a part of the deal. The two said that DigiCert will continue to be based in Lehi, Utah. DigiCert will have over 1,000 employees after the close of the transaction. DigiCert is owned by private equity investor Thoma Bravo.
