Boulder-based venture investor
Foundry Group has backed current portfolio company
3DR, which develops drone technology and software, in a $53M, Series D funding. Foundry--an existing investor in 3DR--was part of a round led by Atlantic Bridge, and which also included Autodesk Forge Fund, True Ventures, Mayfield, and others. 3DR is based in Berkeley, California. 3DR said the new funding goes towards its flagship product, Site Scan, which provides drone data for the construction and engineering industries. The company originally had focused on providing parts and components to unmanned aerial vehicle hobbyists. Jason Mendelson of Foundry Group is on 3DR's board of directors. Foundry first invested in 3DR in 2013.
