Uber Moves Self Driving Vehicles To Arizona
On demand ride service provider Uber is moving its small fleet of self driving vehiles to Arizona, after California's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) revoked the registration of Uber's vehicles, after the company failed to apply for required permits for their experimental deployment in San Francisco. According to a statement by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Arizona is welcoming Uber's self-driving cars "with open arms and wide open roads". Ducey made the case that California "puts the brakes on innovation and change", and pointed to his executive order from 2015 supporting the testing and operation of self-driving cars in Arizona. Uber's self-driving vehicles came under fire after at least one of the vehicles was seen running a red light in testing in San Francisco.
