Rockies Venture Club: Our Portfolio Is 55 Percent Female, Minority
The Rockies Venture Club, the angel investment group which is active across Colorado, said this week that an analysis of its portfolio finds that it has 55% of its companies which are either female or minority led. According to the group--which says it has made fifteen investments in the last twelve months--its portfolio mix far exceeds the national average of just 14.4% female or minority led. The group's Executive Director, Peter Adams, said that the club has "often found" that female entrepreneurs are more efficient with capital, and that it has always believedin empowering current and future female entrepreneurs. The club already has a "Biz Girls CEOs Accelerator Program" which focuses on helping female founders. The RVC did not break out the percent female versus percentage minority led in its portfolio.
