Look up above! It's a bird, it's a plane... no, it's a burrito! Denver-based
Chipotle has landed on the forefront of drone technology development, and will start the
first, ever, restaurant delivery via unmanned drones, in a deal with
Alphabet, the parent company of Google. According to Project Wing, the drone delivery arm of Google, it will start a test of delivering food in Blacksburg, Virginia, in a test that has been approved by the FAA, on the campus of Virginia Tech. The limited testing apparently will use a Chipotle food truck, and the use of a winch to lower food to users from overhead. The drones also will be backed up by human pilots, in case something goes wrong.
