Salt Lake City-based online education and learning site
Canvas Network says it is looking to inspire girls to pursue science, technology, education, and math (STEM) as a career field, via a set of free, online courses on its service. According to the company, its
courses teach girls about STEM topics and educate teachers and parents on how they can encourage STEM careers. Canvas said the courses--targeted at girls in elementary, middle and high school grades--include courses on the scientific method, the water cycle, forensic and crime scene investigation, and other topics. Canvas is a provider of massively online, open courses (MOOCs).
