eBags, Twyst Team On Smart Backpack
Denver-based luggage and backpack retailer eBags, and fellow Denver firm Twyst said on Tuesday that the two companies have launched a new effort to sell an RFID (radio frequency identification) "smart backpack", which will keep track of everything contained in that bag. The two said they have launched a kickstarter campaign for its "TLS Connect", a backpack which links RFID tags and your stuff with your smartphone--letting you figure out exactly what is, and isn't in your bag--all without opening a single zipper. The new design is based on an existing product from eBags, which is well known for its user- and technology-friendly backpacks and luggage. The two are estimating a ship date of April 2017 for the connected backpack.
