The
Global Entrepreneurs in Residence (GEIR) program at
CU-Boulder has opened up applications for it's next yearly program, which extends H-1B visas to entrepreneurs to participate in Colorado's startup scene, according to the school. The GEIR program says that deadlines for its program this year are due April 1st, and are aimed at non-U.S. nationals who would like to become involved with Colorado's "vibrant startup scene", allowing them to start or continue work on their own companies while also mentoring students and the campus community. According to the GEIR's job description, the EIR must have at least a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a field such as technology, engineering, or business, which will "significantly enrich the innovation economy in Colorado." Colorado's high tech industry has been extremely supportive of immigration of skilled entrepreneurs into the region.
