Boulder, Colorado-based Zayo Group says it has completed its acquisition of Canadian fiber network operator Allstream, in a deal which was worth CAD $465M (approx. $350M US). The deal--which had been announced on November 23rd--will add around 18,000 route miles to Zayo's existing network. Zayo said it will split Allstream into two new business units, Zayo Canada--focused on fiber and data center assets--and a second business unit, focused on voice, unified communications and small enterprise businesses. Allstream had been owned by Manitoba Telecom Services (MBT).
