Vivint Gets Naming Rights To Home Of The Utah Jazz
Goodbye EnergySolutions Arena, hello Vivint Smart Home Arena. Salt Lake City-based Vivint and Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment said this morning that they have reached a deal, which will give Vivint naming rights to the home of the Utah Jazz. Financial terms of the ten-year deal were not announced. The two said the name change is effective immediately, including the exterior of the building, scoreboard, all digital building signage, and more. The arena--which originally was called the Delta Center when it opened back in 1991--had been the EnergySolutions Arena since 2006. Vivint offers up a range of home security and automation services to the consumer market. The Delta Center replaced the Salt Palace, which had served as the home of the Utah Jazz since they moved from New Orleans in 1979; Larry H. Miller owns the Utah Jazz, and also owns the Salt Lake Bees, and made his fortune from a major automotive dealership empire across the West.
