Amkor Expands In China
Tempe, Arizona-based semiconductor packaging and testing company Amkor is expanding its operations in China, the company said late Tuesday, in the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone. Amkor says the expansion will increase its space in China by nearly 60,000 square meters, or about 45%. The company said the expansion comes due to what it says is booming demand for assembly and test services in China. Amkor said it will be investing around $60M in constructing the new facilities, which will be complete in the summer of 2016.
