Rick Dakin, 63, the CEO of Denver-based IT auditing and risk compliance services provider
Coalfire, passed away suddenly on Saturday, while hiking with his family near Colorado Springs, Coalfire said today. Coalfire said it has named Larry Joness as CEO of the company to fill the position; Jones has been the company's chairman. Dakin co-founded Coalfire, and had previously also served at Centera Information Systems, United Technology Corporation, and served in the U.S. Army, and had graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Dakin died while
hiking the Barr Trail on Saturday morning, according to the El Paso Coroner's Office.
