Boise, Denver, Salt Lake City Back SBA Startup Initiative
The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched a new initiative to help startups reduce the amount of time it takes to register and apply for permits and licenses, called Startup In A Day, with the backing of three cities in the region. The SBA said the new program is aimed at making it easier for entrepreneurs to start businesses, with the goal of creating a "Startup in a Day" online tool to help entrepreneurs find and apply for all the regulatory approvals they need in participating cities. Among the first cities to provide that tool are Boise, Denver, and Salt Lake City, which the SBA said have committed to provide those tools to residents, and already offer up a number of similar tools. The SBA also said it is offering up a $1.5M competition for seed grants for cities, to help them implement similar tools.
