Twitter Cuts Access To Firehose, Goes All In With Gnip
Twitter
said Friday that it has cut access to its fire hose of data by third party developers, and will instead force everyone to go through Boulder-based
Gnip
, the social data provider
it acquired last April
.
Twitter said
that the move is part of an effort to more "deeper understanding of customer needs, get direct feedback for the product roadmap, and work more closely" with its customers. Two other companies--DataSift and NTT--have lost access to Twitter's data stream as a result of the move.
