New Incubator Aims At Clean Tech Startups, Sets Up In Colorado
A new, startup incubator--the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2)--aimed at the clean technology industry, has set up shop in Golden, Colorado, at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Wells Fargo said Thursday. The new incubator, with a initial class of four companies, will give up to $250,000 to each company in cash and in-kind technical consultation and services, plus research and testing support at NREL's research facility in Golden. According to Wells Fargo, the new startup incubator is funded by $10M from the Wells Fargo Foundation, and is being administered by the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Lab. The initial startups in the incubator are Energy Storage Systems (battery for energy storage); LiquidCool Solutions (liquid cooling for data centers); SmarterShade (smart glass); and WattStick Systems (electric metering technology).
