Do you want your own piece of space immortality? You can buy that on eBay--if you bid on an
auction offering up the rights to name your own crater on Mars--powered by Boulder company
Uwingu. The auction was launched last Friday, and closes next Monday, December 15th--with bidding currently at $1025. The crater--approximately the size of Florida--is being auctioned off as a benefit for the National Space Society, Mars One, and other space related charities. Uwingu operates an online site which helps people connect personally with space exploration and astronomy, and gives half of its revenues to space related research, education, and exploration. Uwingu said eBay selected the company's auction on its list of nique and exclusive gifts for the holidays. The Mars Crater effort is apparently one of Uwingu's first projects in the space engagement area.
