Salt Lake City-based Healthbox, which operates a healthcare technology-focused, startup accelerator, said today that it has selected ten companies to participate in its inagural class. The companies include Asserta Health (healthcare spending); Kosmo Technologies (sleep apnea treatment); LIYEN (asthma inhaler); LowestMed (pricing engine for prescription drugs); ProMD (patient followup); simplicityAirway (edotracheal intubation device); Symptomly (chronic disease management); Tute Genomics (precision medicine); whatsnewMD (new medical technology information for physician groups); and XableCath (catheter-based device for cross obstructed lesions in the peripheral arterial system). The startup accelerator said it has set aside around $300,000 for potential new investments in one or more of those companies in its program.
