SEndGrid said late Tuesday that it has named Sameer Dholakia as its new CEO, replacing Jim Franklin, who had headed the email delivery provider since 2011. Dholakia was formerly the Group Vice President and GEeneral Manager of Cloud Platforms Group at Citrix. Dholakia also joins the company's board of directors. SendGrid is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Foundry Group, Highway 12 Ventures, Bullet Time Ventures, SoftTech VC, 500 Startups, along with angels. SendGrid did not say why it was replacing Franklin, but thanked Franklin for having taken the company from only 20 employees to over 250 employees.
