Durango, Colorado-based Mercury Payment Systems, the provider of electronic payment processing services and technology backed by Silver Lake, said today that it has named Andrew Patterson as Chief Technology Officer. Patterson joins the company from Moneris Solutions, where he was Vice President of Payments Software and Emerging Products. Mercury Payment Systems, headed by Matt Taylor, looks to be bolstering its executive team ahead of an IPO. The firm filed for a confidential IPO in December, but has yet to release any filings or details on that IPO publicly. The company said it processed more than $29 billion in payments in 2012.
