Salt Lake City, Utah-based Allegiance, which develops software which is used to help monitor customer feedback and retention, said this week that it has tapped a data mining expert to head up its Data Science efforts. Allegiance said it has named Al Nevarez to the new role of VP of Data Science, to help focus on intelligent data mining products which tap into the data being collected by Allegiance. Nevarez had previously served at Ford Motor Company. The company said Nevarez--who has been at the company as VP of Product Management--is the inventor of its Spotlight data mining and analytics tool.
