In a big blow to the Arizona semiconductor industry,
Intel said today that it is holding off on putting its
much heralded five billion dollar factory, Fab 42, in Chandler, Arizona for the indefinite future. According to a report from Reuters, the move came because of a
slowdown in the demand for personal computers, which has cut into Intel's core business. At the time of Intel's announcement of Fab 42 in 2011, the company said it had over 9,700 employees in Arizona.
