Gnip is expanding its reach overseas, with a new link to Russian social networking site
VK, the company said Tuesday. According to Gnip, VK (formerly VKontakte) is the dominant social network in Russia, and has more than 236 million users. Financial details of the link with VK were not announced. Gnip helps companies tap into a huge storehouse of information gleaned from such sites as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and others, making it easier for those companies to run analytics and study their social impact on those sites.
