, a company developing surgical robots for the spine, brain, and other surgical markets, has been acquired by
Globus Medical
. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Excelius Surgical was developed in conjunction with Dignity Health;s Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, and was co-founded by Neil R. Crawford and Nicholas Theodore. Globus Medical said it expects Excelsius Surgical's systems to gain FDA clearance in 2015.
